STUDENT SUPPORT SERVICES


Library Services

               The College has central and departmental libraries. These libraries, which are open seven days a week during term time, are well stocked with a wide range of books, journals, newspaper, statistics, videos and other media. Our computerized catalogue lists all the books and other items available for reference or lending and also where to find them. Subject librarians are happy to advice on the selection and use of suitable resources.


The Study Support Centre

            The College aims to improve students' basic skills in writing, study skills, and ICT applications and to build their confidence for the successful completion of their chosen course of study.

               The Centre also provides practical, academic guidance, tuition and support in areas where students may be experiencing difficulties.


Centre for Modern Languages

            The College currently teaches courses in German and intends to provide self-instructional facilities for students in other modern languages.


English Language Centre

            The Centre is offering English Language course to freshmen so that they can cope with living and studying in English-speaking environment. Emphasis is placed on the development of grammatical knowledge, writing skills, communicative competence, listening and reading skills.


Welfare Support

            The Counseling and Advisory Service is available for students to discuss any general problems or personal concerns that they may have with an experienced counselor, as well as to assist with practical issues such as visas, immigration and other matters.


Accommodation

           Comfortable and affordable campus accommodation is guaranteed for all single overseas or outstation students in hostels.


Medical Advisory Service

            The College is able to provide advice on all health matters. A doctor is available offering general advice to any student and treatment of those students who wish to register with the practice.


Disability Service

           The College welcomes applications from students with disability and specific learning difficulties. The Advisor will be able to help with such things as communication aids availability, examination arrangements and adaptations to accommodation.


Chaplaincy Service

            The Chaplaincy provides a number of services including information about the places of worship and faith communities in Chennai.
